2006 forecast: pretty in pink and metallic
The Color Marketing Group (CMG) has released its 2006 consumer color trends for six industries, including home decor and consumer goods.
Color selection was based on such consumer influences identified by CMG as “Heritage with Heart” (the need to reconnect with the past in a positive manner), “Uber Luxury” (the communication of new levels of status through color, materials, and construction), and “Hybrid” (the increasing fusion of cultures in American society).
Expect home decor to emerge in tones of pink (described by CMG as Asian Rose), coral (Bliss), blue (Decoesaue), gray (Elemental Gray), and gold (Flemish Gold).
Consumer goods will appear in in new metallic hues (Diamante Silver, Sona, and Tech-Tile), oranges (Ignorange), and nearly-black violets (Night Sky).
